This class will use the Pilates Method plus scientific core conditioning to teach you to use your body so you can do all the things you love more efficiently and effectively. It will be specifically geared towards balancing your gym workouts and modern life. You will gain strength, stability, flexibility, balance, coordination, concentration, control and fluidity. Through breath we will move better. It can help stave off back niggles but if you are suffering any acute injuries or pain please ensure you have a movement assessment prior to beginning. The session will be a workout, not rehabilitation. The movements will be scaled to meet various levels of ability. You will learn modernized versions of Joseph Pilates’ traditional matwork series which can be done anywhere, anytime.
Sarah has more than 30 years experience as a fitness professional, and 20 years instructing the Pilates Method . She has degrees in Sport and Recreation, as well as Human Performance, is a certified Personal Trainer and holds Pilates qualifications from 3 different educators. She is currently furthering her studies.
Participants should bring a towel and a water bottle. We will provide mats but feel free to bring your own one. A smaller towel is also advised for those who carry their head forward of their shoulders
If you have any injuries or need a modification for a move, please talk to your instructor before class begins and let them know of any restrictions. They will be glad to assist you.
