What is Hatha: Ha = Prana (Vital Life Force); Tha = Mind, Mental Energy
Hatha Yoga is balancing these two flows. Yoga, means ‘unity’ or ‘one-ness’. It is the science of right living.
It works on all areas of our life, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, when we are out of balance it can affect any of the above, limiting growth, strength and flexibility in these areas.
The gentle poses (Asanas) help the above mentioned bodily systems to balance they stretch, strengthen, stabilise and mobilise making the body, especially the spine suppler and stronger. It massages organs, tones abdomens and legs, spinal nerves, loosens the hips and we become more flexible and stronger.
A group of postures will help to free flow energy and eliminates blockages that may have been there for some time. Unconscious ways how we move through life, either work related or life style.
Yoga is extremely beneficial for tightness in the muscles and stiffness in our joints as we warm and loosen the joints stimulating the synovial fluids in the joints. There is sometimes an instant change or an immediate release of stiffness in the joints.
Hatha yoga tones, strengthens, relaxes the muscles and make the muscles more flexible and strong, especially in areas where we carry tension or have been overcompensating other muscles to help balance the body.
Some poses massages the inner organs which can alleviate some digestive issues, being it wind, constipation or a sluggish digestive system.
Balancing Poses develop equilibrium throughout the body, mentally and physically. It strengthens the Nerve Sense System and Left and Right brain.
